Highway Police, Amsterdam
The office building of the highway police is designed as a compact box. An atrium four floors high rests in the centre of the building, bringing in the natural light reflected by the water basin beneath. Horizontal windows stretch along each floor of the outer facade: one for the view onto the highway, and one just under the ceiling, allowing light deep into the work spaces. A meeting room and canteen are located on the top floor and open onto a terrace.
